Idea for New Community

As you all know, I've been working with a couple of friends attempting to improve my writing. While I love QaF, Brian and Justin, the main reason I write is because I love it. I also enjoy learning and improving, which I believe is a main factor in everyone's journey. So, I started thinking that maybe other authors would enjoy sharing ideas and learning from one another in a safe environment. I know how busy everyone is and this wouldn't be a community expecting you to write stories or anything. Each week we would put up a problem or issue that we all share in writing, and then everyone could comment with ideas and a short example. Of course, you could discuss the issue as much as you want as long as you remember that this is a learning experience and not a forum for openly flaming. I think I've proven that a community can be flame free while having many diverse opinions, types of fiction, and ideas...[livejournal.com profile] qaf_cordial is a perfect example. I'd like to know if this is something that you guys would be interested in giving a try. It will only work if you're willing to participate both with ideas and constructive criticisms.

We chose to affliate ourselves (it's sort of permanent linking) with [livejournal.com profile] tamingthemuse because while they service writers as we do, it wasn't redundant since we do different things, so yeah, please get set up and we'll review this. If your community is for writing workshops, we are not doing that. Linking can always be mutually advantageous.

Your user page looks really good and you set that up very fast! Thank you for the link.

I'm glad you joined SW. I hope you find things there you enjoy. We would love your participation.

I am not sure what we'll end up doing on the profile. This is still a work in progress. I hope you don't mind, but as I commented to shadow, I took a poster off your profile page and would like to know who made it so I can give credit. I put it on my affiliate list and on the new community. I can remove it if this is a problem.

I'm still trying to catch up on what I missed, but I will participate as much as possible. As I was researching for topics for exercises for the new community, I realized just how much I'd forgotten about grammar. I think the information your community provides will be a great resource to use in the writing exercises. I look forward to working with you.
Hugs!

Well, there is no rush on the affiliation. We can see how it goes after you get set up.

The banner is by [livejournal.com profile] sanami276, who designed our community. Thank you on her behalf, credit is always nice.

Grammar is a really big topic, I agree. I'm glad you have found some things there that you think will prove useful. That is why we created it.
