I've had an eventful month so far. It never fails that as the holidays approach, my time seems to disappear. I don't know where it goes, but one second it's there and then poof...gone, bye bye.

I've completed all my challenge fics with the exception of the Christmas one, which is kicking my butt. *sighs* I didn't even post a new topic in [livejournal.com profile] writing_studio this week, so I'll try to do better with that, but remember my time has gone "poof".

In addition to all my stories, my online commitments, and my family obligations, I've been sick for the last couple of weeks. I'm feeling better now, but still a bit groggy from the experience. My twin sons, who will turn seven on the 18th of December, have decided that it's fun and kewl to curse. The favorite one is "Dammit" which they picked up from that stupid video game. I don't allow them to play it, but their father plays it as well as their older brother and they can hear, which no one seems to acknowledge. I live in a house full of males. As the only female, it's left up to me to try and teach the boys some manners, cause let's face it, their father "thinks it's cute." *wants to strangle her hubby*

In addition to all that mess, I completely and totally screwed up my computer. It locked down on me, and I couldn't do anything for almost two days. I know that's an eternity!! Luckily, my hubby was able to revive it.

Now, I'm stressing over Thanksgiving Dinner, which they don't actually "do" here, but Alex insists that he's not missing out on all that food simply because we live in a country that doesn't celebrate the American holiday. Unfortunately for me, I don't have my family here, and in the past, the whole family pitched in with the cooking; so in order to please my husband, I have to do ALL the cooking. *grumbles*

I still have all my Christmas shopping to do and I loathe shopping of any kind. Then, there's the Christmas cards, the decorating, the cooking, the wrapping, and trying to make it a magical experience for the boys. Again, I miss my family because we used to divide up all these chores. Don't get the wrong idea...I love the holidays. I think I just miss my family more during the holidays and start to feel a little sorry for myself.

So, I just wanted everyone to know that I'm still here...just a bit distracted. I'll start posting another story in a couple of weeks...as soon as I get a handle on all this extra work. *grins*

I can only agree with you.
I plan on doing Thanksgiving too .. here . Even if i'm not american and all, But I think it's important for once I will do something for my family.
I too have some Xmas shopping to do plus everything I don't have time to do :(

Well I bitch with you ...

Sorry about the computer, my fault.

Love.

Sam

No, the computer was not your fault! No arguing with me...you know I'm always right. *coughs* Hey, we can have a mutual bitch fest with lots of whining thrown in...the more the merrier, right? Besides, you can bitch at or with me any time.

Love and Kisses!

I hope you feel better, and I wish you didn't have so much on your plate. If I can do anything, let me know.

*Hugs*

I'm fine...just indulging in a little self pity party with a huge side of whining like a little girl. I am feeling much better, but you know I always feel down during the holidays...nothing to fret over. I'm much more worried about you, Bro. If you need anything, and I do mean anything, just let me know.

*Huggles you tightly*

I totally sympathize with you on the time issue. One minute you think you have lots of time, the next...poof...it is all gone.

We haven't even done our shopping for Thanksgiving. If it keeps going like this, we will end up having to go out to eat. If we do get it done, there will only be two of us cooking. Which is lots better than by yourself, but still. The menfolk should help out, too, I think.

I hate shopping. No wait...I hate going out to shop. If I could just buy everything from my computer I would. A few clicks here and there, and it'd all be finished.

The twins are going to be 7?! It seems like just yesterday they were 5. Wow. They grow up so fast. Do they curse at school? Or is it just at home? Kinda makes me glad my little niece doesn't talk yet.

I'm glad you are feeling at least a little better. We've had a bug going around over here for a while. Sore throat, stuffy nose. *sends some soup just in case*

Well, I'll stop blabbing now. Got to get ready for work and all that. So much fun. Talk to you later.

Yes the twins will be 7 and you're right they were 5 just yesterday! How did that happen? Yes, Cole said "Dammit" at school and I had to have a long talk with his teacher, who I can't stand...*sighs* I think I'm sending Alex to the next little chat session...this is all his fault! hehehehe

I hate shopping period. I think I can stomach online shopping more because I don't have to deal with incompetent store clerks, but I still hate it. I haven't shopped for Thanksgiving either! I'm soooo far behind in everything these days.

Yes, I'm feeling so much better...still a bit weak, but nothing to talk about. I appreciate the soup...thank you so much. I wish you were here...then we could cook together. *pouts* I'm all alone with no help and getting the men in this family to do anything is like pulling a sore tooth from a tiger's mouth. No, they aren't that bad...I'm just bitching cause I'm feeling overwhelmed. hehehe.

Yeah, I'll talk to you when you get home from work...just IM me.

Hugs!

Oh I SO feel your pain :) !
I'm fairly sure, at this point, that there is some sort of 'black market' trade going on with my time. There's someone out there stealing it and selling it to someone else, 'cos I KNOW I don't have enough of it!
Add to that the fact that my wood stove seems to have lost the memo AGAIN about the fact that its life purpose is to BURN WOOD ! So I'm wasting a couple of hours AGAIN, each day, trying to get the damn thing to play nice !
It's about 15 degrees f. outside, and 20 INSIDE ! SO much fun - or not ! :(

I will be sending you an email later, with the 'check-up' on the remaining stories. I made sure to set aside some time :o)

Hugs, Anita.

Damn! It's colder there than here...didn't think that was possible...hehehe. I hope your wood stove gets a clue.

Thanks for the email, but there is no rush on that. You worry about staying warm and thank you for all the work you're doing for me. I really appreciate it.

Huggles!

and I loathe shopping of any kind

Same here. *guh* I'm NOT looking forward to the crowds & spending money on something else to clutter one's home. I think I'll stick to buying clothing & accessories; that seems practical.

Take it easy, try not to stress too much. I will too. ;)

I think I'm gonna stick to buying books, CDs, Games and DVDs. Why? They're small, easy to wrap and who doesn't like one of the above? You know...that would be an interesting post. Asking what people thought the best gifts were and why...hehehe.

I'm gonna take it one step at a time. *winks*
Hugs!

Well, I'm lucky as we are only having five guests in addition to the five of us...so ten people. Trust me, I'm used to a much bigger crowd. *grins*

Hugs!
